SAFARI 911 SC / BACK TO THE FLATS

Thanks to Randy Leffingwell and Road Scholars Magazine for publishing two stories of mine in their January issue.

I’ve posted before about returning to the Bonneville Salt Flats for Speed Week in 2018. That’s where I filmed and photographed Tom Woodford attempting a record breaking run in his 3-liter dual MFI turbo powered 1975 Porsche 911. He ended up going 191.6 MPH!

The second story focuses on a 1982 Porsche SC that Dave Bouzaglou of TRE Motorsports built in his North Hollywood shop. It’s a very well thought out tribute Safari 911. It mimics the real factory 911 SC Porsche Motorsports Department prepared specifically for the arduous 1978 3,000-mile East African Safari Rally – with a few modern improvements. Both are awesome cars!
