The other night I watched Rob Reiner’s wonderful film starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. Some of my favorites. With parents getting older (and all of us too), the thematic underpinnings struck home. Hard.

I was reminded of the five stages of grieving:
1) Denial, 2) Anger, 3) Bargaining, 4) Depression, and 5) Acceptance.

I’ve always struggled with a few of these, but I’m fortunate to have struck through a few items on my personal bucket list. There still remain far too many left to do. The film does provides a worthy recommendation though: Pursue your dreams, accept your losses, and find the joy in moving on.
