BUDGET ’67 LITE 911R BUILD

Congrats to my buddy Terry English for building an absolutely amazing 1786 lb tribute to Porsche’s 1967 911R prototype number four. Doing most of the work himself, he somehow managed to complete this transformation from 912 roller in less than six months and for less than $25K. Unbelievable.

This is my latest and last Excellence story published with Pete Stout as editor of the magazine (#206). The new editor at the magazine, Greg Brown, will undoubtedly become another great alliance of mine. And Pete, in his new role at PCA’s Panorama, will continue to be a valued client. But I can’t help but look back on my formative years as an automotive photojournalist and equally admire and celebrate Pete’s influence on me. Thank you, my friend.
