GANDHI

Considering the latest rejection by the US Senate of tougher gun laws amidst increased violence, I’m revisiting the assassination of India’s spiritual leader, Mahatma Gandhi, nearly 65 years ago.

Here are a few of his quotes:

“My life is my message.” “I regard myself as a soldier, though a soldier of peace.“ “Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.” “Seven social sins: politics without principles, wealth without work, pleasure without conscience, knowledge without character, commerce without morality, science without humanity, and worship without sacrifice.” “The only tyrant I accept in this world is the ‘still small voice’ within me.” “I’m a lover of my own liberty, and so I would do nothing to restrict yours.” “Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.” “A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.”
