MOONSTONE COMES TO PANORAMA MAGAZINE

The super rare Porsche color of Moonstone (light Lilac) appears in PCA’s Panorama Magazine for the first time with a feature using my photos and text in the July issue.

A 924 and 911 in the obtuse shade of Moonstone is a special treat to see (only a dozen were made in 1979-1980). I’ll probably never see another Porsche in this color again. Thanks to Justin Roeser for the opportunity to shoot his two cars together.

THANK YOU PORSCHE 356 REGISTRY MAGAZINE

Thanks to editor Peter Bodensteiner for my new cover photo and inside feature with Larry Markham’s 1959 356 Sunroof Coupe. The Porsche 356 Registry Magazine has become one my favorites to submit to lately. They are professional, responsive, and pay fairly and on time. Everything a photojournalist contributor could ask for!

935 STORY

Thanks to PCA’s Panorama Magazine for publishing my Porsche 935 story on the cover and over 13 pages inside their April 2021 issue.

Thanks also to the 1977 Mecarrillos 935’s restoration team (Gunnar Racing), Kevin Jeannette and Sharon Jeannette, for offering me a pit pass to RR VI. More thanks to driver Rod Emory and the Meccarillos 935 owner for their trust in me to present the story accurately. Continue reading “”

BEST OF LUCK TO ROTHSPORT RACING IN BAJA

The NORRA Mexican 1000 for 2018 resulted in my producing a film called “Icarus” for Rothsport Racing and Cameron Healy. It won “Best Feature Video” from the Motor Press Guild.

Best of luck to Rothsport Racing, Jeff Gamroth and Barrett Smith in this year’s event starting next week!

THANK YOU ROAD & TRACK

A recent issue of R&T included a photo I made of Rolly Resos’s R Gruppe 1966 Porsche 911. Originally shot for Excellence Magazine a few years ago, the image location is where R Gruppe first met in 2000 – Cambria, CA.

Rolly and I were there at the beginning, and we’ve been to every R Gruppe Treffen ever since. A great guy and a good friend.

ICE QUEEN

It’s always a good idea to expand your client base in today’s editorial world. The Porsche 356 has become one of my favorite cars to photograph. So, when I was given the opportunity to capture an all original 33K-mile 1958 coupe in the snow this winter, I jumped at the chance.

The result is my first feature in the Porsche 356 Registry Magazine. Check it out! Ten pages of words and pictures this month!

GOT GASOLINE?

Fuel injected cars can get by on today’s fuel, but classic cars using carburetors get gummed up by all the additives. Carbs need to be rebuilt periodically if not treated carefully. Just ask Rolly!

Porsche is now making sure we have gas for our carbureted cars. The famous German car manufacturer has begun procurement of a synthetic fuel specifically designed for 356s and SWB 911s!

Now, that’s encouraging. Continue reading “”

GETTING CLOSER

Porsche just announced an entry-level electric Taycan.

The 2021 rear-wheel drive entry-level Taycan will start at $79,900. With 402 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of instant torque, it’ll hit 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. The range of travel without charging is still only 200-300 miles, but it’s getting there.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Most of us probably would like to forget about last year and might even want to skip this year…

Here’s a tribute I created for the late Notorious R.B.G. near my home. Hope this cheers you up a little.

(This series consists of macro images I made of a 1973 Porsche Carrera RS Safari #19 1:43 scale model on my front steps. The real car competed in the 1974 East African Rally. My full feature of that 911 can seen in the January 2017 issue of PCA Panorama Magazine)

THANKS PANO!

It’s a sincere honor to be awarded a cover feature in Porsche Club of America’s national magazine, Panorama.

In the December 2020 issue of Panorama Magazine, there’s a 16-page story of mine that goes behind the scenes for a photoshoot of the Emory Motorsport’s AWD “AllRad” 356 Outlaw.

In this article, I explain what goes into all my professional photo sessions. Photo tips are listed, some secrets are revealed, and a lot of fun ensues when Rod Emory coasts down a pre-planned route without a working engine!

Thanks to Rob Sass, Amy Skogstrom, Richard Baron, Vu Nguyen, Allen Lane, Doug Lloyd, and Emma Smith at the PCA!
