PHOTOGRAPHERS HAVE A COMPOSITIONAL KEY
It’s built into their brain. That’s part of what makes them unique.
It could be a perfect triangle (Sam Abell), a figure 8 (Ernst Haas), or something in between. Continue reading “”

SUMMER IS FOR CAR SHOWS
That’s what summer holiday mornings are for. Rolling out of bed, driving your favorite vehicle over to the local gathering, seeing your friends, and checking out the scene. Continue reading “”
THE LONG WAY ROUND
When you’ve been a full-time pro for as long as I have, you end up seeing a lot of stuff. Most of it is positively amazing. Like the first time you see the sun rise as an ocean storm clears in the middle of nowhere. Some of it is not, like professional jealousy.
There is always room at the top, though. And if you are lucky enough to have a partner that understands your journey – and you have talent, make smart choices, and are persistent – you can actually get there. Thanks, honey.

BONNEVILLE SPEED WEEK 2018
I’ve just returned from a trip to Utah’s Bonneville Speedway where I filmed Tom Woodford attempting a record breaking run in his 3-liter dual MFI turbo powered 1975 911 on the salt flats.
He’s now in the 175 MPH Club with 180 & 192 MPH times! Continue reading “”
LEAVING TOWN
One of my favorite cars to photograph left town today – to be delivered to its new owner. A Porsche 959, specifically this black on black example that was the last to leave the factory. Continue reading “”

PCA PANORAMA DOES IT AGAIN
Lead feature. Lead photo. I couldn’t be happier with this month’s issue of Panorama Magazine. It’s the first time my drone photos have been published in a printed piece. Thanks, Richard Baron. Continue reading “”

MAKING PORSCHE RACING HISTORY IN BAJA
Here’s a look back at the drama and beauty that I experienced in April while following a pair of Porsche 911s – off road down Baja.
Follow me and the Rothsport Racing team from Ensenada to San Jose del Cabo over jumps, river crossings and endless silt beds. Continue reading “”
914/6 GT TRIBUTE
For June, I’ll have a couple of publications. The first will be in PCA Porsche Panorama Magazine.
It had to be orange, of course. Just like virtually every other real 914/6 GT raced by the Porsche factory Werks department. This tribute GT also had to start as a 914/6 to be eligible for racing today. It needed to be heard before it was seen too. Thanks to straight through pipes and no real muffler to speak of, that’s assured. Continue reading “”
WHO ORIGINATED THE LOUVERED 911 REAR DECK LID?
Nobody knows… What we do know is that Rolly Resos sold a muti-louvered Porsche 911 rear decklid that he had picked up at a Pomano Swap meet to a long-haired guy in scruffy clothes at the German Autofest in 2002. Continue reading “”
R GRUPPE TREFFEN
Yes, I’ve been to every R Gruppe Treffen – 18 in a row. This year’s event in Buellton, California featured great weather and camaraderie. Having a drone to photograph stills and video ensured it was even more special. Thanks to all my friends for a wonderful time. Continue reading “”
