MEXICAN 1000 FILM AND ARTICLE PREMIERE
The Porsche Club of America just launched my six-minute video about a pair of Rothsport Porsche 964s racing in the 2017 Baja Mexican 1000 Safari Rally.
After five days of blasting over 1,000 miles of rough terrain, the team beat all the odds by not only finishing but winning a trophy, a feat no Porsche has ever accomplished in Mexico. Until now. Continue reading “”
THE STORY BEHIND THE SHOT
Summer’s here and it’s time for a blistering image that has an interesting back story.
Bonneville Salt Flats is ground zero for land speed records. It’s also a cooker in the summer. The white surface acts like a huge reflector that throws light everywhere. This portrait is one example.
I had set up a flash to camera right and was ready to set my exposure. I fired a test shot, but it was way overexposed at 1/13 of a second. Continue reading “”
LONG MAY YOU RUN
Congrats to Michael Hammond and Don Ahearn for appearing in the current issue of Panorama Magazine with their 1967 911S. It’s one of the longest continually raced 911s in the world! What a blast it was to photograph and write about this iconic vintage race car. Continue reading “”
EMORY CAMPOUT FILM
The camp out this past weekend at Gary and Rod Emory’s farm in Oregon was sensational. Rennfilms and I both showed movies. Mine is a short video that is being prepared to debut with a feature article in the August issue of Porsche Panorama Magazine: 1000 Ways To Fail. Stay tuned for more. Continue reading “”
PORSCHE PARADE – SPOKANE
Busy, busy, busy… Juggling six or more assignments at a time is always a challenge. Fortunately the 2017 Porsche Parade last week in Spokane was delightful. Lots of great cars and people, with plenty of things to do and places to go. Continue reading “”
BARN FIND PORSCHE 944
Check out this latest feature published in Road Scholars Magazine. It tells the story of a 1983 Porsche 944 in the color of Sapphire Metallic. This gem was stored for 34 years, has only 3,700 miles recorded, and is completely original. It can be seen at the Porsche Parade Concours in Spokane on Monday! Continue reading “”
THE STORY BEHIND THE SHOT
For July, here’s a shot that was set up to look like an autocross, also known as slalom racing. It was created to run as the double page opener for a feature I had written and photographed on the sport for Excellence Magazine. Continue reading “”
PARKINSON’S DISEASE
My father died of it. And now I’ve written about it. Not sure I really ever understood its significance until today.
See my earlier post, then learn more about upcoming events at Drive Toward a Cure. Continue reading “”
PORSCHE WINS LE MANS AGAIN
With six hours to go they were 19 laps down. But that didn’t stop the Porsche 919 Hybrid team from clawing its way back to an overall win, its third consecutive Le Mans title. Continue reading “”
THE STORY BEHIND THE SHOT
This month we take a behind the scenes look at an impromptu photo made at the end of the 2014 PCA Parade autocross championship. It had come down to the last run between two modified Porsches, a 914-6 and a Cayman. Continue reading “”
ERIC LINDEN (A.K.A. THE TRENDSETTER}
I’m currently at R Gruppe Treffen 2017 in Napa. And the timing couldn’t be better. My friend Eric Linden of Auto Foreign Services and his 1967 Porsche 911S have been setting R Gruppe trends for 20 years. Continue reading “”
DRIVE TOWARD A CURE
This past weekend I had the privilege of attending the inaugural Drive Toward a Cure Road Rally, which benefits Parkinson’s research. Kudos to Deb Pollack and Mark Davidson for organizing this successful and heartfelt California adventure. Continue reading “”
GT WINNER IN PCA PANORAMA
Kudos to the folks at Panorama Magazine for publishing a feature of mine in their April issue. It’s an R Gruppe award-winning 1973 Porsche 911 hot rod in Signal Yellow that Steve Baker built over 11 years. The result is a stunning car and a fun read! Continue reading “”

Simplify simplify, simplify. It’s easy to overlook how powerful a detail can be when composing a photograph. Continue reading “”
