All said, <em>Siren <\/em> has aged very well. Their last album <em>Avalon<\/em> comes close, although it belongs to an entirely more mainstream family. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"5500\" height=\"305\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZXggFvA4UeA\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe> <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to rudimentary drumming by Paul Thompson, thoughtful bass by John Gustafson, Phil Manzanera&#8217;s majesty on guitars, Bryan Ferry&#8217;s soaring vocals, and model Jerry Hall&#8217;s appearance on the cover &#8211; it succeeds. <\/p>\n<p>This is a very hard album to find on any media that sounds great. Most CDs, LPs and streaming are a shadow of what is possible. This example is muffled too. Unlike all other Roxy Music albums, the UK Siren LPs used a copy tape, as did pretty much everyone else, including the original Atlantic US AT\/GP.  <\/p>\n<p>Finding a clean US Atco reissue pressed by Specialty is a challenge for the ultimate all analog LP delivery. Believe me, it&#8217;s worth it.
