May is a long way from December. But, by popular demand, here’s this month’s story behind the shot.

In 2014 I was assigned to photograph an all original, low mileage 1958 Meissen Blue Porsche Speedster. I was in Seattle. It was in Montana. All I needed to do was be there in one week – on Christmas day.

Luckily, it snowed to create a uniform background. And, because the current owner was amenable, we trailered it around town. When we scouted Fort Missoula. I knew the shot was there.

Three possibilities were considered. Then we came across this building. I could pre-visualize what it would look like and positioned the car. The result was a finalist in the 2015 MPG awards. A classic case of luck meets opportunity.
