CRIS HUERGAS
Intention is everything. When fully met, it involves your whole purpose and being. It requires passion, reasonable thinking, and a commitment to follow through.
When times get tough, I try to remember that no matter what happens, intention will see you through every time. Be confident, look outside the box, leave the herd behind, move forward, and ride. Godspeed.

HAPPY NEW YEAR & 10th ANNIVERSARY!
Today, this blog celebrates its tenth year on the endless wire – pre-Instagram. Thanks to all for visiting this site and letting me share my life with you.
With an average of one new blog post every 5 days and an Instagram site now flourishing (@cars.randywells), it’s been an extremely satisfying last couple of years. It certainly helps me to keep writing!
Now, I just gotta keep up those New Year’s resolutions… Personally, I can’t wait for the 2020s.

VACATION TIME!
After working pretty much every day for the past eight months, I’m going to take an extended vacation.
I’m going to soak in mineral hot springs while gazing at the stars, get a well-deserved massage (or two), walk on a deserted beach, learn street photography from a true master, and photograph some festivals.
I’ll also do a podcast. Continue reading “”

LAUNCHING AND LANDING
When writing a feature, it’s the beginning and ending that are most important to me. I can spend days on just those four paragraphs – editing away anything that I can in Hemingway style. The best editors honor this. Thank you. You know who you are. Continue reading “”

IT’S SO GREAT TO BE BACK
Being a freelance artist means you are going to have to come to terms with stuff others don’t have to. Thankfully, we can always come back to being creative in a place where all that stuff goes away… for awhile. Continue reading “”
OWN IT
When I think of my life and the decisions I’ve made, a lot of it has come down to personal responsibility, doing the best I can in all circumstances and being true to myself.
Living in the moment and following your intuition helps. It keeps you aligned with your real potential by not dwelling on the past or what others might think. Continue reading “”
MY BEST FRIEND HAD A BIRTHDAY TODAY
We have shared so many experiences together over the past 40+ years that it’s impossible to put them into words. Continue reading “”
PERFECTIONISM
Mr. Nelson, my 5th grade teacher at Mt. Eccles Elementary School in Cordova, Alaska, was the first person to tell me that I was a perfectionist. He advised me that while it’s certainly an admirable trait, it could hamper me if taken too far. I’ve never forgotten that, and I remind myself to keep it fun every day. Continue reading “”
