I’ve been collecting vinyl for over 35 years. You will find many other filmmakers, photographers and writers who are passionate about LPs and music as well. Album covers, melodies, and lyrics provide artists with a direct connection to their visual work.

Mathew Sweet is one of those alternative ’80s rock stars, like World Party and Talk Talk, who went from unnoticed to great. By his third album, Girlfriend, released 30 years ago this week, Sweet had hit his stride. It is my favorite angst-filled rock record ever, with guitar hooks that will have you swooning.
