Congrats to Michael Copperthite and his 1953 356 vintage race car just published in a feature I completed for the great guys at Road Scholars.

Michael found his Porsche pre-A 356 on eBay. It looked a mess, but something about the poorly painted coupe appealed to him. It was 95% complete, had seatbelts out of a P-51 Mustang fighter, and a rally clock out of a B-24 Liberator bomber. Continue reading “”

My 2001 VW Eurovan Weekender’s second transmission failed. I guess after 200,000 miles of traveling cross country that will happen. Rather than fix it again, I decided to upgrade to a 2006 Porsche Cayenne. Same VR6 type motor with a lot more amenities. Continue reading “”
