SEAN CONNERY R.I.P.
Known as the ultimate Jame Bond, here’s a photo of Sean Connery, MI6 agent 007, with his Aston Martin DB5 in the 1964 movie Goldfinger. Continue reading “”
LOVE IS THE DRUG
Roxy Music’s 5th release Siren is arguably their best albums and could be considered one of the best glam rock albums ever, if only for the hits “Love Is The Drug”, “Both Ends Burning” and “Just Another High”.
Perhaps their finest hour, consistent and thematic, and released almost 45 years ago. All said, Siren has aged very well. Their last album Avalon comes close, although it belongs to an entirely more mainstream family. Continue reading “”

FORD BRONCO + FILSON CAMPAIGN GOES WILD
Bronco and Filson – two iconic American brands with long histories in the outdoors – announced a campaign today where they are joining forces to celebrate wildland firefighters and raise funds to help maintain and preserve America’s natural resources and National Forests. I was asked to pitch in.
I feel very fortunate for that assignment. See my still shots from last week’s photo assignment of this vehicle for Ford and Filson below. Five million views in the first week! Some say 50 million views, but I’m guessing that might be overall. Continue reading “”
THE PIONEER – ROTHSPORT RACING & PCA
No one knows for sure when Porsche’s 1995 3.8-liter air cooled motor was first transplanted into a pre-1974 early 911.
What we do know is that in late 1999 Jeff Gamroth of Rothsport Racing in Oregon started thinking about constructing a long hood 911 using the most powerful normally aspirated air-cooled flat six available from Porsche.
SO YOU WANT TO BE A PHOTOGRAPHER?
First you need to establish your goals. Does income from photography matter to you? If not, then join the millions of other people with the same avocation. Continue reading “”
FROM 50 MM TO 28 MM
It’s interesting when you think about it. In the 1950s and before that, people saw the world with what artists called a “normal” perspective. It resembled a 50 mm focal length composition on a full-frame 35 mm format camera.
You see that perspective when you travel to European cities. The streets and buildings are narrow and complement that field of view. Continue reading “”
WHERE TO GO NEXT
You may have noticed I haven’t posted about the next place to travel to in quite awhile – for obvious reasons. However, if you remove Europe (because of the current travel ban) and limit yourself to certain parts of the USA, there are still some good choices available. Continue reading “”
TELL YOUR STORY
I feel vey fortunate to have grown up in an isolated fishing village in Alaska.
Everything was possible. My imagination was set free. Telling my story took a bit longer. Continue reading “”
IT’S ALL RIGHT
Probably my second favorite tune, next to “Handle Me With Care”, from the Traveling Wilburys is “End of the Line”. It still provides some comfort today. Continue reading “”
RAIN AT LAST
Washington state has finally received some rain today. More is forecast for tomorrow. I’m hoping all my friends in California and Oregon are receiving some relief as well. Continue reading “”
CANDYCE’S 1973 PORSCHE 911S
A big thank you to everyone at PCA’s Panorama Magazine for publishing my story about a woman who carried on her husband’s legacy.
This month’s issue features my images and words about a 1973 911S in Sepia Brown that has won countless concours since Candyce Jones inherited it from her late husband. The image above was photographed with Candyce at the wheel while attending PCA Parade in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. This is a great story for many reasons. Continue reading “”
IT’S ONLY A MATTER OF GOING
From this day forward, all images on this site will be 550 pixels or wider, so you can better see the differences in quality.
“Actions speak louder than words.”
I’ve always believed in that. Yet, in today’s world, more and more, made up images and words are often believed over actions that are actually true. Continue reading “”
