Seattle is and has always been different. That doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s an assemledge of people from across the nation looking for learning, recreation and progressiveness, yet it remains reasonable (except for the more recent cost of living increases, homelessness, rioting and traffic problems).

It’s not a last frontier state like Alaska, which has a whole different set of challenges (believe me I spent a dozen years there). And it’s not Oregon, which is split down the middle as far as I can tell. It’s certainly not an “anarchist jurisdiction”, whatever that means. In other words, Washingtonians (for the most part) walk a mile in your shoes before they judge you.
