When I respond, “Wow”, it is for one of two reasons. It either means, “I’m really impressed”, or it means, “I am utterly at a loss for words”.

When I say, “that’s hilarious”, it only means one thing: “Are you kidding?”

Most of the time I don’t talk and just listen.

Most importantly, I never call myself a “master photographer”.

VINYL IS HOT

In the last five years new vinyl LP sales in the USA have doubled to over 30 million units sold per year. That’s more than new CD sales today, and these numbers don’t include used record purchases.

Prior to 2016, the sales numbers for new vinyl was increasing but not anywhere this rate. Only problem is, most everything currently released on LP is on backorder. This is primarily due to increased demand and decreased supply (due in no small part to the small number of pressing plants and the lack of vinyl pellets). See this for more:

CARRERA GT

Here’s another perfectly shaped car. The Porsche Carrera GT (Project Code 980) manufactured between 2004 and 2007.

I’ve actually driven one, along with the 1958 356 Carrera GT Speedster below, and a few other landmark Carreras, thanks to the insistence of the owners. I think I can go to heaven now.

THIS IS WHAT THE WORLD FEELS LIKE SOMETIMES

I made this photograph of endless waves in stormy weather in the late ’90s at Newport Beach, Rhode Island. It’s always struck a nerve with me.

THE ROAD TRAVELED

Congrats to Luke Veselic on his feature in the latest issue of Porsche Panorama Magazine. We traveled to the furthest back roads of the Santa Monica mountains north of Los Angeles to write about and photograph the 1982 911 SC Targa that Luke inherited from his father and a 2019 911 Carrera T that Luke recently purchased.

The light that evening was magical and made for some great photos and memories.
