Porsche’s beautifully shaped Mission R concept car could be the all-electric future of racing. This battery powered race car could also be the basis of an all-electric 718 Cayman for the street.

TIMING IS EVERYTHING
Joel Bernstein was a young man interested in photography during the late 1960s.
He was lucky enough to hook up with some folk rock musicians before they became famous. “Almost famous” describes his life, and it might be used to describe mine. We were both very fortunate to be given an opportunity at just the right time. Continue reading “”
THANK YOU AGAIN PORSCHE 356 REGISTRY MAGAZINE
Thanks to editor Peter Bodensteiner and the team for including my work in their 356 magazine this month. My inside feature with words and pictures profiles Steve Terrien’s 1961 356 Sunroof Carrera GS tells the story of his ownership of the car for almost 40 years. Check it out.
LET THE PAINTER PAINT
The best magazine editors get this. They know that hiring the best in the business is only best if they let them do their work without a lot of interference.
CHARLIE WATTS R.I.P.
The only drummer in The Rolling Stones since its inception passed away today at age 80. He was the core of the band. Married to the same woman since 1964, with as steady a beat as was possible, and always a purveyor of fashion, Charlie was as cool as they came. Everyone loved him (bottom right in photo). Only two, Mick and Keith, remain from the original line-up. Kind of like The Who and The Beatles…
This is a real loss, never replicated. Charlie will forever be deeply missed. Continue reading “”
BACK FROM MONTEREY CAR WEEK
What a phenomenal show. There were so many highlights to recount. Certainly, one was the thirteen Porsche 917s brought together for a once-in-a-lifetime photo shoot on Saturday at Pebble Beach in Carmel, California. Wow.
Thanks to writer Jay Gillotti, who invited me to make the photos for the Porsche Club of America’s Panorama Magazine feature. It was great to reconnect (and connect) with many new and old clients and friends over the weekend.
THE ROAD TRAVELED
Congrats to Luke Veselic on his feature in the latest issue of Porsche Panorama Magazine. We traveled to the furthest back roads of the Santa Monica mountains north of Los Angeles to write about and photograph the 1982 911 SC Targa that Luke inherited from his father and a 2019 911 Carrera T that Luke recently purchased.
The light that evening was magical and made for some great photos and memories.
CANON F-1 STILL LIFE
Canon began as a Japanese company called Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory in 1933. When the company started to manufacture cameras, it named them “Kwanonâ€, which is the name of the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy. Continue reading “”
WHO’S NEXT – 50 YEARS LATER
Today marks the 50th anniversary of The Who’s best album. I would say arguably, but the only other contenders are Tommy and Quadrophenia, and while these are classics as well, none has this record’s cache.
“Won’t Get Fooled Again” from the album Who’s Next becomes increasingly relevant with each passing year. Continue reading “”
MORE PUBLICATIONS
The Summer 2021 issue of 000 Magazine tells a story of the “Surface” material used on the 1968 Porsche 911S. My images illustrate the unique “Buffalo Hide” treatment used on the interior of this special Euro model. Yes, it’s esoteric and a deep dive. And that’s just what 000 wants. Continue reading as you can…
BACK FROM PORSCHE PARADE
It’s good to be back home after a busy week in French Lick, Indiana. Lots of early mornings photographing cars, concours and autocross for the Porsche Club of America Panorama Magazine. Look for full coverage when my words and pictures appear in the October issue!
FTOTD captured.
ANOTHER PANO COVER
A rare 356 Carrera GS Super 90 (1 of 14) comes to Porsche Club of America’s national magazine for the first time in a feature using my photos in the July issue. Peter Linsky wrote the story.
Special thanks to creative director Richard Baron of PCA Panorama Magazine for a great layout and cover!
MOONSTONE COMES TO PANORAMA MAGAZINE
The super rare Porsche color of Moonstone (light Lilac) appears in PCA’s Panorama Magazine for the first time with a feature using my photos and text in the July issue.
A 924 and 911 in the obtuse shade of Moonstone is a special treat to see (only a dozen were made in 1979-1980). I’ll probably never see another Porsche in this color again. Thanks to Justin Roeser for the opportunity to shoot his two cars together.
JULY 4TH
Here’s a firecracker for you.
John Martyn was one of the most talented and intense musicians ever. Never heard of him? That’s not unusual. Continue reading “”
THANKS TO PORSCHE EARLY 911 CAR OWNER JEFF BERKES AND BUILDER SCOTT LONGBALLA
A cover and a feature full of photos in the latest summer issue of the Early 911S Registry’s magazine ESSES is a welcome gift. Thanks to everyone for helping to make this happen. Continue reading “”
